About the Journal

"Zielonogórskie Studia Bibliotekoznawcze" (ZSB) is a scholarly journal (ISSN 2299-3363) devoted to issues of library science in the broadest sense and its specific disciplines, published annually by Pro Libris – the publishing house of the C. Norwid Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Zielona Góra. The editorial team intends this yearbook to be a continuation of the previously published editions of "Zielonogórskie Studia Bibliotekoznawcze," which initially (issues 1-4) were published as monographic studies of a historical and bibliographic nature, based, among other things, on the collections of the C. Norwid Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Zielona Góra. The series was initiated in 2002 by Grzegorz Chmielewski with the publication Polish folk libraries on the western border: in the Babimost-Międzyrzecko-Skwierzyński region in the years 1880-1939 (Zielona Góra 2002). The following year, issue 2 was published – Janusz Rećko, Włodzimierz Korsak's Archives: in the collections of the C. Norwid Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Zielona Góra. After a several-year break, the series was resumed in 2008 with Dawid Kotlarek, Zielona Góra in German literature to 1945 (from a historical and bibliographical perspective). A year later, issue 4 was published – Jarosław Kuczer, The Hermina von Reuss Archive: correspondence of the Reuss, Schonaich-Carolath, Hohenzollern and Prittwitz und Gaffron families in the collections of the WiMBP im. C. Norwid in Zielona Góra.

The next issue was published in 2013 in a modified format – as a collection of scholarly articles by representatives of various research centers and cultural institutions. The publication was edited by Andrzej Buck, Przemysław Bartkowiak, and Dawid Kotlarek. At that time, it was decided that ZSB would be published regularly, as an annual. Therefore, the next issue was published in 2014, continuing the approach adopted in the previous volume, additionally expanding the content with a "Reviews and Reports" section. Issue 6 was edited by Andrzej Buck and Joanna Wawryk, and the main part consists of articles devoted to the topic of "The Library as a "Third Place," drawing on the sociological concept of Ray Oldenburg. Issue 7, containing a number of articles on press issues, was edited by Andrzej Buck and Przemysław Bartkowiak. The year 2016 saw the publication of issue 8, which presented a series of reflections on the press as a source of historical research. The editorial work was led by Andrzej Buck, Przemysław Bartkowiak, and Paweł Kalisz. Issue 9 is the culmination of the conference entitled "People with Disabilities in the Library – Inclusion in the World of Information and Culture – Theory and Practice." Lectures by participants representing academic communities from across Poland and international guests were edited by Andrzej Buck, Przemysław Bartkowiak, and Monika Simonjetz. The next issue of the ZSB, the 10th, edited by Andrzej Buck, Przemysław Bartkowiak, and Paweł Karp, explores the role of social, cultural, artistic, and literary periodicals in the contemporary library. The next combined issue, issues 11-12, was published under the title "Włodzimierz Korsak's Archives in the Collections of the Cyprian Norwid Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Zielona Góra." Part two, authored by Alicja Lipińska and Maria Radziszewska, is the second issue, edited by Przemysław Bartkowiak and Anna Urbaniak, and focuses primarily on regional bibliographies compiled by various libraries. We invite anyone interested in publishing in the next issue of ZSB to submit articles.
